My Walkabout

As I make my way through Southeast Asia — from stunning island beaches to epic jungle treks, and now into the world of Buddhism and meditation — this is where I’ll share my journey with you. Part travel diary, part guide, it’s my record of what life looks like when you choose to build it somewhere new.

What you’ll find here isn’t a checklist of tourist stops. It’s the view from the inside; the moments, the challenges, and the small wins that come with building a life across borders.

Over time, this site has become more than a collection of my stories. It’s a living roadmap for anyone who feels the pull toward a different kind of life, especially those dreaming of becoming a digital nomad. Through my own experiences, I hope you’ll find both inspiration and practical insight for creating a home wherever in the world calls to you.

A Day with Giants: My Visit to a Thai Elephant Sanctuary

This wasn’t just another tour; it was a moment that shifted my perspective. I spent the day walking beside rescued elephants in the hills of Thailand, learning their stories and witnessing the quiet power of connection.
If you’ve ever wondered what it’s really like to stand eye-to-eye with an elephant in a place that protects them, this one’s for you.

Aboriginal Australians had a strong spiritual connection to the land. They believed deeply in Dreamtime; the message of a dream and honored a tradition called Walkabout. "A time of reflection of the soul, a return to one's roots and family ancestry, a joyous revisit to vistas creeks and waterholes. A time to replenish the food supplies from another region of Australia. A time of balance to harmonise with the sounds and sights of the great land of Australia." Godwinsdatter, M.G. (1981).

I arrived! The sun was just beginning to rise as we descended toward Ko Phuket, and I was immediately struck by how mountainous the island truly is—something I hadn’t expected. As the light spilled across the peaks, I paused, taking in the moment. The flight, though long, had been smooth. But more importantly, I felt present. I closed my eyes and said the most important prayer I know: Thank you.
