Resident Show Jumping Trainer

Ariel Yazid

International Grand Prix show jumping trainer and competitor, Ariel Yazid, grew up  in the San Fernando Valley, California. Ariel relocated to Bordeaux, France for an opportunity to learn and train over fences at the SHA (Societe hippique d'Aquitaine). Later, Ariel was then mentored under Jean D'Orgeix, an Olympic Bronze medalist (London) who coached the French team to Gold in the 1976 Olympics. Under D'Orgeix, Ariel was able to hone his skills and develop his forward style of riding that he uses to this day.  As a competitor Ariel continued to gain invaluable experience in the irons as he worked with various breeding and sales barns throughout Europe, where he systematically developed many young horses through the ranks and into the Grand Prix arena.

Ariel's dedication and competitiveness was the driving force that lead him to learn and compete against the best-of-the-best in Europe (11 years). Currently, Ariel is  successfully developing and campaigning two horses in the competition arena; a talented Selle Francais (Ciao du thot x Kannan x Quidam de Revel) in the FEI 7 year old division and a a nine year old who he hopes to move into the 1.45M division later this summer.

In 2024 Ariel plans to focus not only on competing and developing his current training and competition string, but plans to share his prowess over fences with students and riders here at Journey's End. Weekly poles and rails clinic dates will be announced as will Ariel's summer competition schedule. Ariel looks forward to sharing his knowledge and expertise with riders of all levels, including event riders hoping to improve on their show jumping abilities.
